dhw: […] you wrote: “there is no before before the BB. Time didn’t exist. This was proven by Guth, Borde and Valenkin by mathematics years ago, presented by my books and here.

dhw: You have denied that there is no before, because you believe that God existed before, and you have repeated over and over again that it is possible that God created earlier BBs. Neither of us is saying that they existed. We are both saying it is possible that they existed. And so we are both saying it is possible that time existed before our BB – the exact opposite of the bolded quote. You are quite right: we are arguing about nothing, because you agree with me that Guth has NOT proven that there was no before and no time before our BB. That should be the end of this discussion.

DAVID: If you will state that previous time only existed in previous BB's, not in between BB's, I'm happy. And our time started with our BB, Guth's point.

dhw: Of course OUR time started with OUR BB, but that is not Guth’s point in the bolded quote. (Your claim that between BBs does not = time - i.e. after 1 and before 2 - is irrelevant, since you already disagree with Guth's claim that there was nothing before our BB.)

DAVID: You didn't read Guth's paper or its interpretations by many scholars. His point is time started with our BB with no comment as to what caused our BB.

dhw: I have only read the bolded statement at the head of this post, in which you state that Guth and Co proved that there was nothing before the BB and so time did not exist before our BB. If you misquoted Guth, then so be it. I am discussing this with you and not with Guth, and you state categorically that there was a before, and that you think it possible that there were BBs before ours. Therefore you do not believe that Guth & Co have proven that there was no before our BB and no time before our BB.

Apparently you don't understand the bolded quote. "There is no before before the BB. Time didn't exist." Where did your bolded impression come from? From my belief God exists is what I remember. God is timeless
