I've read many books and websites that suggest we are alone and many that say we are not. There is no definitive answer with this subject just as there is none for the question of a God. To me, just by observation of what people claim, there is plenty of evidence for both! . 
 - BBella: I'm not being closed-minded. The research in DNA going on at the moment is to look at the so-called tree of life, and see if it is consistent with Darwin. Within a few years the DNA tree will go from the earliest Archaea to us. We already know that human DNA has lots of incorporated virus DNA. DNA from a foreign planet will pop up and we'll know the answer to your question. - My previous answer was to indicate to you that what we know so far is against the idea and we really can't go further in that direction with the methods used so far. What I have just described is a valid way of finding out.
