Vilenkin has recently shown mathematically there is no "before" before the BB. Over 10 years ago he, Guth and Borde showed a similar result. So it looks for all the world like a creation, but by whom or what is up to your own thoughts or faith as you wish. Energy had to preceed it; You can't get something from nothing.
