An amoeba doesn't have to think to replicate....-This is a misunderstanding, and I'm sorry if my point was not clear. I meant that the mechanisms (e.g. for reproduction and adaptation) cannot be said to have originated by means of an automatic process. We do not know how they came about. Materialists attribute their existence to chance, and theists attribute it to design. And I remain on my fence.
