BELIEF is not complicated. (Introduction)

I don't believe it's as simple as you believe it is! - I don't see how judgment of probability can be automatic. The process of "judgment" must surely be lengthy if it is to be reliable. Trials shouldn't come to a verdict until all the evidence has been presented and its reliability has been thoroughly tested. - In your paragraph about "judgment of probability" what is the meaning of the word "consider"? It is just a synonym for "believe". So you are in fact just stating a truism: People who say they believe what they don't believe are contradicting themselves. - You go on to say that "trust" is a voluntary act of will, yet you also say it depends on our "motivation", which surely depends on strength of feeling, or emotion, not on pure logic. Anyway the whole concept of "will" is fraught with all sorts of philosophical difficulties. You are just confusing the issue more.
