Had they heeded that prohibition instead of relying on their own understanding, bloodless treatments would be far more advanced than they currently are, and we would not even be having this conversation.-As you point out with Factor 8, HIV can be lurking. I remember the issue when I was in practice.-Doctors have recognized the value of not using blood. A bloodless bypass machine was developed years ago for open-heart surgery with excellent results. Also, as mentioned, giving blood in advance for oneself has been standard for year. On the other hand safe factor 8 is extremely helpful, and the drug that helped save the two volunteers who came home recently, used antibody factors from blood and from genetic playing with the tobacco plant.
