My Useless Education (Introduction)

I work in applied geophysics and surveying, I study game design. I know, not much of a correlation there, but hey, geophysics and geological surveying just pays the bills. :P I decided to go back to school because my current career is not meeting my needs intellectually or in my family life. (Being gone six months out of the year is REALLY hard when you have a family.)

Game design really does teach a lot, and the title for the thread was more of a sarcastic jab at the people who have railed on me for my choice of major. (That doesn't apply to anyone on this site, just my warped sense of humor coming out.) The broad spectrum of the educational curriculum is one of the prime reasons that I chose the field. I am a dabbler by nature, and this field suits that dabbling addiction to a T.
