Simply study the Bible, and follow the teachings of Jesus.-You could have just as easily said study history and don't be a scumbag, it would equate to the same thing, really. The NT portion of the bible basically says to 'love thy neighbor', 'do unto others as you'd have done to you', 'don't judge people because you are no better then they are', and 'don't break laws unless the laws themselves are immoral'. At least, if you remove the metaphysical stuff from the book, that's what it says.
