http://opa.yale.edu/news/article.aspx?id=7508-Great article, and great contribution to this site. I propose E. Coli appeared full-blown with this backup DNA/RNA protection from the beginning of their existence, or else how did they have a beginning and survive to this point? Layers of protection by hunt and peck evolution or complex specification at the start? Only one choice is logical.
