Tony: I have so many thoughts on this. When I get back to my computer I'll bang them out. What do you think David?
Not at all surprising. Other symbiotic and parasitic relationships lose DNA and co-opt some of hosts functions and metabolic output. As the article suggests it probably/may have a way of using ATP in the fish.
