As with many things, i believe it's a very mixed question. -A good question for you David: The relapse potential of opiate abusers is incredibly high. Is it still free will when the body compels people to do things like that? Or OCD?

\"Why is it, Master, that ascetics fight with ascetics?\"

\"It is, brahmin, because of attachment to views, adherence to views, fixation on views, addiction to views, obsession with views, holding firmly to views that ascetics fight with ascetics.\"

A good question for you David: The relapse potential of opiate abusers is incredibly high. Is it still free will when the body compels people to do things like that? Or OCD?-Addiction is due to chemical changes in the brain, primarily. Staying free in part means fighting them. Free will is certainly an issue there, but they became addicted of their own free will to begin with. :-))
