Man-made DNA; well, partially (Introduction)

Finding new backbones for DNA/RNA has been accomplished. This is all intelligent design with the usual wishful predictions about how helpful in research this will be. The research folk start with living molecules and manipulate them. This is not origin of life from ground zero! But it is a great accomplishment:
