We are definitely minuscule in the grand scheme of things. However, I find it ironic that the author indulges in the same narcissism that she criticizes by saying that everything we do is important. While I agree with the idea that everything we do matters, I disagree with the logic she used to arrive at that point. According to her logic, it would have been better stated as, "everything we do matters to us", unless of course she is applying the butterfly effect to the universe.

What is the purpose of living? How about, 'to reduce needless suffering. It seems to me to be a worthy purpose.
