Civilization (Humans)

As has continually come up in our conversations since I have been here, it is a question of humility. When you start your inquiry with an assumption, you are starting from a point of arrogance, and will be much more unlikely to find the truth of a given subject. -Modern western civilization has a habit of preaching tolerance with its lips while using its fist to beat the differences out of people. Until we can learn to approach the past with humility, we will never even begin to understand it because we will be looking at it through blinders.
