I have a JPS copy that I go to for my OT, because it intermixes some of the oral tradition that never got written down, and of course it was translated to english from Masoretic. -Jews (for the most part) view their book as something to be interpreted, and if an interpretation is wrong... they change it! They don't try to keep a square peg in a round hole. It takes a level of humility to admit when you're wrong, and I think Evangelicals in America could use a strong dose of that.

\"Why is it, Master, that ascetics fight with ascetics?\"
\"It is, brahmin, because of attachment to views, adherence to views, fixation on views, addiction to views, obsession with views, holding firmly to views that ascetics fight with ascetics.\"

Being able to admit when you are wrong is a truly wonderful thing, and very liberating when you realize that being wrong does not end your career, destroy your life, or cause the earth to stop rotating on its axis. Pride in general is probably the single most blinding factor there is.
