Ancient Technology (Introduction)

While researching the link between Imhotep and Joseph for another thread, I ran across this link regarding the construction of the pyramids. It is fascinating because it show a level of chemical knowledge we did not previously think they posessed. The best part, this same technology can be found throughout the ancient world, even in South/Central America, further evidence for a more technologically advanced civilization predating Egypt.

This shouldn't be too shocking... the concrete we use today is only 1 ingredient different from what the Romans used.

Unless I have recovered memory syndrome, I saw an article a number of years ago with a modern explanation of how it works.

Unless I have recovered memory syndrome, I saw an article a number of years ago with a modern explanation of how it works.-I remember about twenty years ago some guy touting an environmental technology, and he had mentioned that his technology was similar to that used by the ancient Egyptians to build the pyramids. Seemed pretty wild speculation back then. -Having said that I could never really believe the huge blocks being hauled into place. Bags of sand etc and vessels of water - now we are talking.-So you may well have recovered memory syndrome, but then again perhaps not.

What boggles me is why similar sites have been found throughout the world. It is actually pretty rare that two completely disassociated groups discover the same process at roughly the same time and use it for roughly the same purpose. Normally ideas are spread through contact with the originating culture. In fact, I do not know of a single breakthrough technology, which this surely would have to be considering the time period, that was spontaneously discovered in separated areas at the same time. Hell, even the rediscovery of technology normally takes several centuries.

Not only enormous, but set in place to resist earthquakes!

http://www.mlahanas.de/Greeks/Lenses.htm-Not the best website, but certainly worth noting the use of magnifying lenses and telescopes more than 1000 years before historians say they were discovered.-Another link showing a deep grasp not only of lenses but of biology.-http://home.comcast.net/~hebsed/enoch.htm

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vimana-Article shows that the technology of the "Vimanas" could literally be a gross mistranslation. Go to the "veda" link and read the two translations from the Rig Veda.

I agree that the one quote there is a gross mistranslation. However, it is generally accepted by most who have studied the Vedas in any depth that Swami Dayananda Saraswati is not a good translation. There are better ones out there that do not take so much poetic license.
