Humans spend too much time making up rules. Various religions are particularly clever at this. It is very possible to conclude that there is a God force as part of the universe, that may not require varying rules of worship. It just requires keeping an open mind as one studies science. Therefore one can be accepting of God, agnostic about exactly what God is, and not accept the manmade concoctions in religions.
