Happy New Year? (General)

Goodbye to 2024,
When the only news was that of war,
Of natural or man-made disasters.
And the follies of our lords and masters.

So welcome to 2025!
Are we not lucky to be alive?
Able to enjoy the fruits of our labours,
To laugh and share with friends and neighbours,
To use the rain and bask in the sun,
And to live at peace with everyone?

Whether or not there’s a God above,
The greatest gift of all is love.
Too simple? Without it we can’t survive.
So I wish us all love in 2025.
