WORMS (Evolution)

SPOTTI-CROW: SO THAT'S ALL WE ARE, WORMS OF NO ADVANTAGE TO THE UNIVERSE ONLY TO OUR OWN EXISTENCE. IF WE ALL DIED TOMORROW AND THE WORLD SPLIT IN TWO IT WOULD NOT MATTER A THING TO ANYTHING. WE WOULD JUST NOT BE HERE. FINISHED, GONE AND THEN THE WORM GOD WOULD PLANT A BIT MORE SEED AND WE WOULD ALL START AGAIN.-DAVID TURELL: Really? Do you think we'll kill ourselves off, and God would start it up again? [...] Or would life be started on a planet in a galaxy far, far away? And what sort of God would do that?-First of all, a warm welcome to Spotti-Crow, and many thanks for this very colourful post. I'm not convinced that in the bright African sun, predators would find it harder to spot a dark skin than a white one, and I suspect the colour has more to do with protection against the climate and solar radiation. However, your chosen name suggests you may know more about this than I do.-What really interests me is the above quote (and David's response), as it neatly encapsulates two of our major problems on this forum. Is there such a thing as a "worm God"? If so, what is its nature? This second question is inevitably linked to the issue of why it would plant its "seed" in the first place. You will see from the range of headings that we have branched out into a variety of related subjects, but it would be interesting to know where you stand on these two basic questions.
