Dendrology is the study in Forestry School of the pattern of branching in different types of trees. The tree of life keeps changing its branches. We all remember the much ballyhood IDA from last May, thought to be a very early form of our branch. A new fossil is causing branches to switch. Ida may not belong to us at all:-http://sciencenow.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/2009/1021/2-A much more complete story about the same discovery with a detailed discussion of close branches:-http://scienceblogs.com/laelaps/2009/10/afradapis_and_ida_sittin_in_a.php?utm_source=selectfeed&utm_medium=rss
