Particles, perceptions, passions, perspectives (A mad world)

> dhw: And if humans can get passionate about particles and the quantum wall of probability, why are they not a thousand times more passionate for instance about the people suffering, starving and dying in refugee camps all over the world? You may notice that I am putting this post under the section called “A Mad World”.-The history of Europe from 1914 to 1945 is one long war or preparation for war. No wonder the continent is so passive about helping try to control the rest of the world. Relied on the USA to take care of it, and Obama has roughly decided 'no more'. Pulled the rug out and left a vacuum into which nasty folks have jumped in to take advantage (read Putin and Rouhani) in the Middle East, while China is pushing the limits in the Eastern world, especially in the China Sea. Lesson: only strength works, and Obama has weakened the USA. As the world's policeman since 1945, no wonder there is strong current of American weariness. The UN is worthless in this regard, since it acts mainly as a money factory for third world nations, and worries about inconsequential issues like global warming, which is a prime way to find the money they are looking for. Will Europe wake up? The influx of refugees should apply enough pressure if Europeans can stop following Merkel. She personifies Deutschland uber alles. -If I were president I would re-strengthen our military and push NATO to act with us in Syria, not going it alone.
