Verification that the big-bang actually happened verified that the known universe indeed has a start-date, and nullified one of the only things that Einstein got wrong: the universe is static.
>
> Einstein simply accepted what every one thought. The Milky Way was the entire universe. Once Hubble at Palomar found othr galaxies and the red shift, it was obvious that the universe was not static. Einstein's biggest problem was handling the cosmologic constant and adjusting it when he found out about expansion.-Not precisely: He worked hard revising the equations behind general relativity because he didn't like the implications of their being a discrete beginning. It's true that a static universe was the predominant paradigm, but he didn't abandon that paradigm until it was otherwise conclusive. -Of note, the constant is only 10% off in explaining the theoretical construct of Dark Energy.

\"It is, brahmin, because of attachment to views, adherence to views, fixation on views, addiction to views, obsession with views, holding firmly to views that ascetics fight with ascetics.\"
