Christmas - A Martian View (A mad world)

On 25 December 2012, a Martian spacecraft landed in the garden of No. 10 Downing Street, London. We at the Taunton Space Research Centre intercepted a message sent from the spaceship to its home base, and our team of linguists have deciphered and translated it. We are privileged to be the first website in the world to publish a message from Martians, and although we apologize for the naivete of their thinking, we hope you will enjoy this unique text.-CHRISTMAS: A Martian View-During the human year there is a day
When care and conflict simply fade away.
People flock together, and they bring
Gifts for one another, laugh and sing,
As if some great commandment from above
Had banished hate and centred life on love.-It's just a day. Conflict and care return.
It seems these humans still have much to learn.-
Happy Christmas, fellow Earthlings!
