What is our mind? (Introduction)

I've always thought that our capacity to think, have a strong sense of individuality, i.e., 'self', our consciousness, defined simply as aware that I am aware, is at a level that is not entirely explained by looking at a human brain, either by PET scans or or microscopically. I think all of it is at a quantum level, using complimentarity, entanglement, Einstein's 'spookiness at a distance'.
