No, no. I've followed you. What you are missing is the innate plasticity of brain cells, altering themselves and taking over diffferent functions. In a recent paper fibers to the optic centers were cut and shifted to the auditory center and 'seeing' still occurred. The blind develop extremely heigthened alternate senses, but you knew that.
