The Implicit Danger of Assumptions... (Origins)

In David's book (which I will finish over winter break) he makes reference in a couple of locations to some careless discussions of the "average" distribution of matter in the universe. (Careless, not on David's part, but on the part of scientists who assume EVERYONE knows what "average" really means.)

This solar system here has WAY more water than the solar system we currently reside in. The danger of talking about a "universal average" is in thinking that the universe is average.

Exceptions prove the rule.

\"It is, brahmin, because of attachment to views, adherence to views, fixation on views, addiction to views, obsession with views, holding firmly to views that ascetics fight with ascetics.\"
