dhw: Whether the cell's “brain” is your 3.8-billion-year computer programme or my “intelligence”, it will still have to process information about the rest of the cell, about its colleagues within the organism, and about the environmental conditions it has to deal with. As I see it, that is how it all functions. What other information does your computer programme or my cellular "intelligence" have to process?-DAVID: I'm still struggling to find the right way to put my concept of what DNA offers. As I see it contains the information that provides for the construction of the organism and for running its functions. I agree that there is a mechanism to read this information and the incoming changing information both from within and without the organism, as described above.-Then we have reached agreement.
