Tony: This was a truly amazing article. There is so much in it to pick from that it is hard to know where to start. One point that really piqued my interest is in the comment responses where there is a link to a study showing that the age of the gene is irrelevant. Even 'young' genes are absolutely necessary for life.

What is the purpose of living? How about, 'to reduce needless suffering. It seems to me to be a worthy purpose.
