Also worth noting that if flower reproduced asexually there would be no incentive for them to change to sexual reproduction, produce nectar, produce pollen, or any number of other things. If they did produce sexually, it would have required that the transport mechanism on other species was already in place prior to that development.

What is the purpose of living? How about, 'to reduce needless suffering. It seems to me to be a worthy purpose.
